The Governor has directed the Department of Public Safety to prioritize safety over dyed fuel inspections on roadways.
In South Dakota dyed fuel is subject to sales tax. There are specific statutes that would exempt dyed fuel for agricultural production. Any one who would not meet those exemptions would most likely erase or pay more in tax than the savings on fuel tax by using dyed fuel.
